I
hold a Diploma in Forestry and began my professional career in 2017. For eight
years, I served as the Beat In-Charge at Kangpara Beat Office under the
Trashigang Forest Division, where I gained hands-on experience in forest
management, conservation, and community engagement.
Alongside
my professional responsibilities, I have pursued my passion for the study of
pteridophytes (ferns and their allies) in Bhutan. I am a co-author of the
reference work Pteridophytes of Bhutan: A Taxonomic Enumeration, a
comprehensive checklist documenting the country’s fern diversity. Through my
field explorations, I have documented 21 fern species that are new to the known
flora of Bhutan published in Fern Gazette, including one species new to
science, Diplazium phuntshoi, which was named in my honor in recognition
of my contributions.
