I began my career with the
Department of Forests and Park Services in 2017 at Trashigang Forest Division,
where I work for nine years. During this period, I contributed extensively to
natural resource management, sustainable forest management, biodiversity
conservation, environmental impact assessment and wildlife research. I also played a key role in conservation
planning and the management of Biological Corridors 6 and 9.
In January 2026, I joined the Ugyen Wangchuck
Institute for Forestry Research and Training, where I currently serve under the
Centre for Conservation Biology. My research interests focus on wildlife
ecology, with particular expertise in mammalian ecology, including lesser known
meso-carnivores and small mammals. I have authored and co-authored several
peer-reviewed scientific publications on wildlife and biodiversity conservation
in Bhutan (https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=5o9JAZ0AAAAJ&hl=en).
I holds a BSc in Life Sciences from
Sherubtse College, Royal University of Bhutan, and an MSc in Forestry (Wildlife
Management) from the Forest Research Institute, Dehradun, India.
