3rd November 2013, His Eminence the Ninth Gyalwang Dokhampa Jigme Pema Nyinjadh is leading a team of walking pilgrimage, which started on the 1st November from Tharpaling Monastery after visiting some sacred sites around the Monastery. En route from Tharpaling Monastery, a team visited the Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation and Environment (UWICE). On arrival from the northern entrance, the walking pilgrimage were received by the Lam Neten of Jakar Rabdey, Director  and faculty members of the Institute and were ushered to the Lamai Goempa Dzong for light refreshment.

It was Namgang (an auspicious day of full moon) as well as a rare solar eclipse; His Eminence through his immense compassion consented to administer Mani (Avalokitesvara) and Vajra Guru (Guru Rimpoche) lung to the people gathered. His Eminence also gave a short teaching on the importance of environment conservation to the people gathered.

It was very grateful to receive such teaching form His Eminence, as our Institute’s main focal mandate is to educate on environment conservation.

His Eminence also presented a few books on Gyalsey Laglen (Thirty-seven practices of Bodhisattvas) and other books to the institute Library.
