Eco-Guide Training for 12 Young Enthusiast River Guides of Panbang

A 5 days training on Eco-guide is ongoing in Panbang, Zhemgang Dzongkhag from 23rd to 27th December 2013. It is being jointly organized by Royal Manas National Park (RMNP) and Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation and Environment (UWICE). The training is funded by the Bhutan Foundation.

The training is conducted based on the request made by River Guides of Panbang as they recently started River rafting with the support from Bhutan Foundation. RGP is a group formed by 12 young enthusiast school dropout youths certified to operate professional river rafting after they underwent rafting training with Xplore Bhutan.

This training is expected to instill interest towards environmental conservation for the youths who would help conservationist(s) in conserving the environment. The training shall focus on key identification techniques of plants, birds and butterflies. Officials from UWICE and RMNP are conducting the training.
