Call for Participants - Conservation Workshop on Small Mammals Research for field staff

Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation and Environment is conducting conservation workshop on small mammal research in Bhutan from 15th August to 29th August 2015.

The training workshop will introduce participants to field sampling techniques for scientific studies on small mammals. The most important outcome of the workshop is to discuss future directions and plans on small mammal research in respective parks and division particularly in RAMSAR sites.

The training workshop is aimed to impart practical skills on small mammal studies and thus the training will be conducted in the field most likely in one of the park or RAMSAR areas. Therefore, the participants must bring field gears  and necessary field equipments. The training workshop are aimed at early-career(less than 10 years’ experience)in field of conservation. Potential participants must submit the completed application form for the course latest by August 10, 2015. Participants or parent agencies may e-mail the completed application form to kdorji@uwice.gov.bt and call Training Coordinator at 17642189 during office hours.

DSA of Nu. 1,000/day will be paid to participants by the organizers; the participants and organizations will need to arrange for any travel allowance or additional DSA if eligible.

The training workshop is organized with the financial support from the Education for Nature (EFN), and WWF (Bhutan).
