MPIO & UWICE Signs MoU : Donates Collars

On 29th May 2016, the Directors of the Max Planck Institute for Ornithology and Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation and Environment signed the second MoU extending their research collaboration for next five years. The day was marked with donation of 15 gps and acceleration sensor collars.These collars will be deployed to study trans-humane and livestock movements.
These movement data will also become a basis to understand the predator-prey, and scavenger movement dynamics and forage behaviour. The collars are worth Euro 20000.00.
The MoU highlights collaborative research, exchange of scientists and transfer of knowledge and skills and human resources development.
