Siberian Rubythroat (<i>Luscinia calliope</i>) at Lamai Goempa.

On 6th October 2016, Siberian Rubythroat was caught in the mist-net in UWICE campus. It is winter visitor and a passage migrant to Bhutan known to reside at an elevation ranging from 245 – 350 masl. Although not a new record to Bhutan, the researchers were happy to sight this bird at an elevation of 2900 masl. Siberian Rubythroat is categorized in IUCN as least concern species due to its large home range.
The distribution range of this bird covers Bhutan, Cambodia, China, Hongkong, India, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Lao, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines, Russia, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
