Orientation Program for 9th Batch of Trainees
The orientation program for the 9th batch certificate course in Conservation, Environment and Forestry Studies at Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation and Environmental Research (UWICER) was conducted on 1st July, 2017. The new batch consists of thirty trainees including twenty six boys and four girls.
The orientation program was coordinated by the dean of training and academic affairs. Officiating Director, faculty members and all the management staff of the institute joined the program and briefed them about the course curriculum, rules and regulation and teaching-learning facilities of the Institute.
In the two year certificate course about ten different modules will be taught including forest ecology and field botany, forest protection, forest management, survey and mapping, utilization of natural resources etc.
After completing two years courses from the Institute the trainees will be recruited in the Department of Forests and Park Services, Bhutan Green Corporation Limited and Natural Resources Development Corporation Limited. The selection will be done according to their performance.
