The Department of Forests and Park Services (DoFPS) is pleased to announce 25 slots for the one-year Certificate Course in Forestry (2021-2022 intake) at the Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation and Environment Research (UWICER), Bumthang.

1. The Selection Criteria shall be as follows:
   1. Qualification: Only class X passed certificate marks with a minimum of 50% in all subjects (Optional subject shall be excluded) shall be considered.
   2. Age requirement: 26 years or below at the time of application.
   3. First shortlisting shall be on academy based merit ranking. 120 candidates shall be shortlisted based on academic ranking to undergo physical fitness test (marathon).
   4. Physical fitness test: To complete 8000 metres (8 km) run in 50 (fifty) minutes. Out of 120 candidates, first 60 candidates, who complete 8000 metres in 50 minutes, will then be shortlisted to sit for the viva voce.
   5. Out of the 60 candidates, only 25 (twenty five) candidates, based on overall score of academic achievement, marathon race and viva voce, shall be selected to undergo the one-year Certificate Course in Forestry.
   6. All 25 selected candidates shall undergo drug test. Expenses for the drug test shall be borne by the individual candidate. If any of the selected candidate(s) is/are found positive on prescribed drugs shall be disqualified.
2. The following scores/marks shall be allotted for the selection procedures:
   1. Academic achievement: 50%
   2. Physical fitness test: 30%
   3. Viva voce: 20%

2. Marathon will be conducted in Thimphu. Candidates shortlisted for marathon should reach Changlingmethang on 18^th July at 5:00 AM sharp for briefing and marathon. Those who fail to report on stipulated time shall be disqualified from participating in the marathon race.
3. Shortlisted candidates for both physical fitness test and viva-voce will be intimated through email and phone calls. The list shall also be posted on both DoFPS and UWICER websites.
