Chairperson of Anti-Corruption Commission visits UWIFoRT head office
The Honorable ACC Chairperson and her three-member team, including the Regional Director for the Central region based in Bumthang visited the Institute at Lamai Goenpa on 11th March 2025. The team was on an awareness campaign visiting educational training institutes in the central region to create awareness and get feedback on the better ways to infuse and enhance Ethics and Integrity within the Bhutanese work culture.
After visiting the Technical Training Institute (TTI) in Chumig geog, the team visited UWIFoRT and met with the staff at the Lamaigoempa Dzong.
Head Specialist Dr. Sangay along with the staff cordially welcomed the Chairperson and her team for the first time and briefly presented about the institute, followed by questions and discussions. Madam Chairperson and her entourage commended UWIFoRT for supporting the Department of Forests and Park Services in fostering effective conservation-tied research and teaching. Thereafter, the honorable Chairperson and the team briefly talked about the status of anti-corruption in Bhutan and the international level, integrity and its essence, significance of individual perceptions, the significant need of reliable data on understanding the public perceptions, usefulness of global statistical data on anti-corruption and integrity for policy and planning, benefits and importance of educating and grooming youths to promote ethics and integrity in our Bhutanese society over team.
The team was then taken around the educational and research facilities, such as the entomological and enthno-biological museums, wildlife display rooms, herbaria, and the dendro-climatology laboratory.
The program concluded with a group photo session.
