Dasho Karma Tshering, Honorable Secretary of MoENR, visited the Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Forestry Research and Training while returning to the station from his visit to Gyelpozhing.

While at the Institute, Dasho interacted with the staff and forester trainees. At the outset, Dasho praised the Department of Forests and Park Services (DoFPS) for the enormity of job responsibilities and sacrifices made by forestry staff citing examples from Covid-duty and harsh environments where forestry staff work without complaints. Dasho shared on Enlightened Entrepreneurial Bureaucracy 10x (E2B10x) to achieve the noble diamond strategy. 

Of the countless valuable advices Dasho gave, he stressed on the need to monitize facilities/data/resources such as the pilot phase of wildlife tourism in Jigme Dorji National Park.

After inaugurating "Scientific Paper Writing", a 5-day training, Dasho toured the facility centers around the campus and left for another site visit. Staff and trainees of UWIFoRT express deepest of gratitude for Dasho's visit to the institute and look forward to interacting on a frequent basis.
