UWIFoRT celebrates promotional ceremony of Four promoted officials today

The Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Forestry Research and Training (UWIFoRT) is pleased to announce and extend heartfelt congratulations to four of our dedicated colleagues on their recent promotions. This achievement stands as a testimony to not only the dedication of every promotee but also the collective growth and excellence of our Institute.
The following individuals have been promoted:
- Mr. Dendup Tshering – Specialist III
(Ethnobotany)
Mr. Dendup Tshering has contributed immensely to the documentation and preservation of Bhutan’s rich ethnobotanical knowledge. His promotion is a recognition of his tireless efforts to bridge traditional plant use with modern conservation science. - Mr. Chimi Tshering – P1 Specialist (Tree
Breeding)
He is the incumbent head of the Sub-tropical Sub-centre of UWIFoRT, stationed in Gelephu, where he continues to work with iconic tree species, such as the Agar tree, and to find appropriate inoculum for Agar formation besides others. His promotion marks an important milestone in his professional journey. - Mr. Rinchen Wangchuk – P1 Specialist (Wildlife Biology)
Mr. Rinchen Wangchuk’s dedication to wildlife conservation and research including Nature Guide training lead tutor, has significantly contributed to biodiversity knowledge and management in Bhutan. His promotion is a testament to his passion and dedication to wildlife studies. - Ms. Choney Wangmo – Senior Administrative Assistant
Ms. Choney Wangmo has demonstrated exceptional leadership in administration and management, ensuring smooth operations within the Institute. Her promotion acknowledges her commitment and integrity in service delivery.
