Graduation Day Celebrated at UWICE

On 25th June 2013, the Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation and Environment celebrated the graduation of its fifth batch of foresters in Conservation, Environment and Forestry Studies. All the graduates celebrated the day with great ecstasy.

The Chief Guest of the ceremony was the Program Director of the Renewable Natural Resources, Research and Development Center (RNR-RDC), Jakar, Mr. Jigme Wangchuck. Regional and sector heads of the Dzongkhag have also attended the celebration.

The Chief Guest, awarded certificates to all of the graduates. The Dean’s award for Academic Excellence was conferred upon Mr. Yeshey Jamtsho with a certificate and a prize.

The Director’s award for Excellence in Leadership was bestowed upon Mr. Ugyen Galtsho. He was selected by the Director of the Institute and by Faculty members from among ten candidates pre-selected by the students.

After a group photo session with the Chief Guest in the Dzong Courtyard, the graduates performed a cultural program, which ended with the Tashi Lebey.
