Twenty staffs from different range offices of Wangchuck Centennial Parks (WCP) are attending a weeklong training on GIS and GPS at Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation and Environment (UWICE), Lamai Goempa, Bumthang.
The course covered wildlife database management, spatial analysis works flow, model construction and geospatial modeling environment. Also, the participants are introduced to carry out projected based GIS analysis that caters to their needs in the field.
Unlike the regular short term GIS training with preset generic course content conducted by UWICE, the course for this training is framed based on the requirement submitted by WCP. On completion of the course, the participants are expected to demonstrate required conceptual knowledge and practical skills to carry out the projected based data analysis.
