Father of Italian Butterfly House, Dr. Enzo Moretto and His Team Visited UWICE
Dr. Enzo Moretto, a Scientific Director of the Butterfly Arc in Padua, Italy and his team visited the Institute on 27th September, 2013. The team was warmly welcomed by the Director and faculty members of the Institute at the Hall of Commons.
Dr. Enzo Moretto is a degreed Naturalist specialized in Entomology. He has wide experience in the entomological field. He is the Italian father of the Butterfly Houses. His first project was started in 1974, when he was only 16 years old and he did open the first permanent living butterfly exhibition in the 1988 in Montegrotto Terme (Padova) with the naturalist Gabriella Tamino.
At the Institute, he gave a talk on the general evolution of the insects and basic methodologies of identifying the butterfly from moths and other insects. He also highlighted the possibilities of establishing butterfly house in Bhutan.
