Lhadhar Hoisted in Front of Dzong

Today, coinciding with the good zakar, the Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation and Environment hoisted a Lhadhar infront of the Dzong. Director, faculty members, management staff and students were present during the event and offered their prayers.

Prayer flags are hoisted for happiness, long life, prosperity, luck and merits. And to offer karmic merit to all sentient beings.

Lhadhar is sign of victory with the Gyeltshen caps the top. It is usually hoisted as a landmark near dzongs and lhakhangs.
