Pre-congress International Student's Workshop for Emerging Ethnobiologist

The International Student’s workshop is one of the pre-congress events held every two years. This year the workshop has been held in the College of the Natural Resources, Lobesa from May 27 to 30, 2014. This workshop is intended to foster international connections between emerging ethnobiologists and to establish a support network of mentors around the world.

There are more than 30 participants from eleven different countries attending the workshop. The participants include five mentors and twenty five students. The four day workshop will include a field trip nearby villages and interacting with the local people.

Mr. Dorji Wangchuk, Director General of the College of Natural Resources was chief guest along with the Deans, head of the faculty and staff attending the opening session. The workshop is jointly organized by the Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation and Environment (UWICE) and International Society for Ethnobiology (ISE) with fund support from Bhutan Trust Fund for Environmental Conservation (BTEFC).
