The Team From Aspen International Mountain Foundation Visited UWICE

Today (6th Oct. 2014), the President of Aspen International Mountain Foundation (AIMF), Ms. Karinjo DeVore and Ms. Joseland Helen visited the Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation and Environment. Their visit was mainly to explore the potential of funding in the field of conservation and environment through Bhutan Trust Fund for Environmental Conservation (BTFEC).

AIMF is a Colorado based nonprofit corporation dedicated to promoting sustainable development in the world's mountain communities. It's primary mission is to provide a global and regional voice and share best practices across the region and around the world.

The team was led by Dr. Pema Choephyel, the Director of BTFEC. Officiating Director, faculty members and management staffs has welcomed the team to the Institute. Mr. Sangay Wangchuk, Chair of the Sustainable Forestry Department gave  a presentation to the visitors, highlighting some programmes, achievements and future plans of the Institute. The presentation was followed by question answer session.

Bhutan Trust fund for Environmental Conservation has been supporting the Institute since its inception.
