Greening the UWICE Campus

The Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation and Environment, Lamai Goempa, Bumthang planted more than 300 saplings of fruit tree species (apple, pear and chestnut) at the Institute campus yesterday. The event was led by the Director of the Institute and all the faculty members and the management staff participated in the plantation.

Mr. Kinga Thinley (Research Assistant), the coordinator of the forest nursery at the institute said "With the new fencing around the Institute campus to keep away cattle, we expect the saplings to grow well".   

The event was held as a tribute to mark the 60th Birth Anniversary of the fourth Druk Gyalpo Pal Jigme Singye Wangchuck.
