Convocation for Seventh Batch Certificate Course

The seventh batch of one-year certificate course in Conservation, Environment and Forestry Studies (July 2014 to June 2015), which was conducted at Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation and Environment, formally concluded today with convocation ceremony. The trainees who attended the course were both in-service and pre-service candidates selected to work in Natural Resources Development Corporation Limited (NRDCL) after the course. During one -year course trainees were introduced to various forestry basics including Forest Management, Silviculture, Forest Botany, and even Wildlife Conservation. After the theory course they were sent on attachment for the period of five months to various NRDCL offices.

The convocation ceremony was graced by Mr. Karma Drukpa, Chief Executive Officer of NRDCL and was attended by various regional and sector heads of Bumthang Dzongkhag. The chief guest, on his keynote address, advised the passing out trainees that corporate and social responsibility is very important and the mind-set of working hard for the corporation is must to bring improvements in society and natural resources at large.

Mr. Nakula, who served as councilor said “the knowledge, skills and training is very important in this modern world and they are fortunate to have been selected for this course”. Moreover he thanked the NRDCL management for sponsoring their training.

The program concluded with cultural program and lunch.
