Forest Silviculture and Management Training
The second batch of training on Forest Silviculture and Management is undergoing at the Institute. The training is targeted to people who are working in different territorial divisions under the Department of Forests and Park Services and is organized with an objective of developing a healthy and quality forests and its management in Bhutan.
Two weeks training will cover theory and practical sessions on silviculture, operation and plans of forest management unit, forest mensuration, forest pathology and dendrochronology. By the end of the training, participants are expected to learn various tree measurement techniques, volume calculation, importance of forest management, how to read volume table, basic sampling techniques and wood technology.
This is the fifth training funded by REDD+ Readiness Programme of Bhutan supported by Forest Carbon Partnership Facility, World Bank through Watershed Management Division, Department of Forests and Park Services.
