The Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation and Environment, Lamai Goempa, Bumthang is pleased to announce the second Nature Guide and Ecotourism Course for those interested tourist guides. The course will be for 2 months (March & April 2016) and the course consists of both theoretical and practical learning. This course forms the foundation in field guiding for botany and wildlife orientated career.

Interested participants holding a valid trekking and culture license are invited to enroll. The first preference for the course will be given based on the seniority in the guiding services.

Prospective candidates may apply for the course along with the following documents:

• Application form (Download here)
• Citizenship identity card
• A copy of valid license (Trek and/or Cultural Guide)
• Curriculum Vitae along with passport size photograph
• No objection/recommendation letter from the concerned agency
• Medical fitness certificate

You may submit your application to the UWICE Unit office in Thimphu latest by 5^th February 2016, before 3 pm.  The date for the selection interview for the shortlisted candidates will be informed on 10^th February 2016.

Upon selection, participants will be paid stipend of Nu. 1500/- (One thousand five hundred) only to meet their food costs. All other costs, i.e. lodging, vehicles, tuition fees and honorarium for guest lecturers will be met by the institute.
