The first National Research Coordination meeting for the Department of Forests and Park Services, Ministry of Agricultre and Forests is undergoing at Gelephu (13^th-15^th January 2016). The meeting is being organized as per the resolution of the 3^rd National Park Conference held at Lamperi in October, 2015. This meeting is coordinated with an expectation to streamline the forestry research in the country.

The objectives of the meeting are to:

• Identify research and information needs based on field requirement
• Identify potential collaborators from field offices
• Prioritize research needs
• Identify training needs for field personnel

Around sixty participants from the Department of Forests and Park Services comprising Chief Forestry Officers and research section heads from various field offices are attending the meeting. The Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation and Environment, Lamai Goempa, Bumthang is organizing this meeting.
