International Training on Wildlife Study Design and Data Analysis

A 10 day international statistical training titled “Boot Camp on Wildlife Study Design and Data Analysis” will be delivered from 12th to 23rd September 2016 at UWICE in Bumthang. A total of 20 seats are available for the training. 10 will be reserved for Bhutanese nationals and the remaining 10 for international participants. International participants will have to reach Thimphu by 10th September. A shuttle will be provided from then on.

The training is targeted at professionals who are actively involved in field-work on wildlife conservation and management. Participants should have a background in field biology and basic knowledge of statistics. Participants should be proficient in using computers and applications, such as Microsoft Excel or other data management software. There are no registration fees for this training. We will provide training materials during training sessions but participants must bring their own laptop/computers. Accommodation and meals will also be provided.

The workshop will begin with registration, a reception and formal opening on the evening of Sunday September 11, 2016.

The training will be provided by experts from the Biodiversity Conservation Society of Sarawak (BCSS) in Malaysia. For registration, kindly mail your CV and personal statement of interest to tashid@uwice.gov.bt.
