Nature Guide and Eco-tourism Training at UWICE

Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation and Environment (UWICE) conducted an orientation program for 3rd batch of Nature Guide and Ecotourism Course today (1st December, 2016). The trainees were welcomed by the Officiating Director, faculty and management of the Institute. The Dean of training and academic affairs and some faculty members briefed the trainees on various teaching and learning facilities, course curriculum, rules and regulation of the Institute.

This batch of trainees has 22 tourist guides from various tour companies to under-take one and half month course. The course will include both theory and field practical basically the identification of plantsmammalsbutterflies, and birds.

Till now the Institute has conducted the same training for two batches in 2015 with an objective to enhance Eco-Tourism in our country and 32 trainees have successfully completed this certificate course. The course has been structured to impart  environmental knowledge, conservation concepts and ownership of our pristine environment.
