Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation and Environmental Research (UWICER) under Department of Forest and Park Services in collaboration with University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU), Austria organized two day closing workshop for Bhutan climate change adaptation potential (BCCAP) project phase II on 11^th and 12^th of October at Hotel Rochog Pel, Thimphu.

With financial support from Government of Austria, BCCAP project was implemented with the objective to enhance livelihood in Bhutan through conservation and sustainable use of natural biodiversity in the face of climate change, through improved scientific knowledge and understanding of climate society interaction.

Recognizing, that education plays a critical role reducing vulnerabilities of societies to climate change, particularly those living in the Himalayan region, one of the core component of the project was to build human capacities within the Ministry of Agriculture and Forest.

Through this project, thirteen officials from NBC, DoFPS, Thimphu Thromde was granted full scholarship to study at BOKU University in Vienna, Austria since 2013 till date. Hence, the workshop was used as a platform for disseminating the research findings which was pursued as a part of M.Sc and PhD studies.  In addition, the workshop also highlighted some of the major achievements of the project and also identified future areas of research collaboration between BOKU University and relevant agencies under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forest. Officials and representatives from BOKU University, Department of Forest and Park Services, National Biodiversity Center, College of Natural Resources, National Soil services Center, Royal Society for Protection of Nature, World Wildlife Fund and Bhutan Ecological Society participated in the 2-day workshop.
