The Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation and Environmental Research in collaboration with Royal Society for Protection of Nature is organizing a consultative workshop to develop strategic plan for the iconic avian species (Black necked cranes and White-bellied heron) on 11 and 12 April 2019.  The workshop brought in the Chief Forestry Officers, senior forest officials and senior officials from RSPN to the workshop.  These 35 officials from across the country representing various habitats of Black necked crane and White-bellied heron got together on one platform to collectively think for the conservation and welfare of the species.  The workshop saw presentations on the conservation status and issues from various habitats to assess the conservation status and issues to develop strategic plan for these species.

The workshop is conducted with financial support from the RSPN.
