Foresters undergoing a week long training on Forest Silviculture.

The Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation and Environmental Research in coordination with the Forest Resources Management Division, Department of Forests and Park Services, is organizing a week-long training on Forest Silviculture from 16 to 21 April, 2019, at the UWICER, Bumthang. 

The training is being attended by 20 foresters from various field divisions and parks of Department of Forests and Park Services. The training module will cover basic characteristics of forest growth and development, silvicultural methods and applied silviculture techniques in forest management regimes of Bhutan. 

The training aims to equip participants with silvicultural knowledge and skills required for sustainable forest management. The training has been structured to provide sound theoretical and practical concept underlying the best silvicultural treatments under different forest types and management regimes in Bhutan.

The training is support by the REDD+ project, managed by the Watershed Management Division, Department of Forests and Park Services.
