UWICER celebrates 9th graduation ceremony

The UWICER celebrated the graduation ceremony of 30 trainees of the National Certificate II & III Forester course on 26th June 2019 at Lamai Goempa Bumthang. The event was presided over by the Director of the Institute Mr. Shacha Dorji and attended by the faculty, other staff members, and regional and sector heads from Bumthang Dzongkhag.

Twenty graduates will be joining the Department of Forest and Park Services; five will be heading to Natural Resources Development Corporation Limited and five to Green Bhutan Corporation limited. The foresters training was offered as a one-year Certificate course from 2008 till 2017 and was re-incepted as a two-year forester course (one year each of National Certificate II and III forester course) validated with the standards of the Department of Occupational Standards (DOS) and the Department of Technical Education (DoTE) of Ministry of Labor and Human Resources. With this batch, we have successfully trained nine batches of foresters who work across the country under field offices.
