Youth Empowerment in Gaining Skills to Help in Becoming a Nature Guide

The Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation and Environment Research, Lamai  Goempa Bumthang announces 1 (one) month training to help gain skills in nature guiding. The course will cover intensive theory and field practical in taxonomic skills in biodiversity (plants, birds, butterflies and mammals) identification. The training will commence w.e.f. 10th December 2019.

The interested applicant must submit the following documents for selection before noon of 7th December 2019. The documents can be emailed to trainingunit@uwice.gov.bt  in soft copy for your convenience.

  1. Class XII passed
  2. Valid security clearance
  3. Medical certificate at least valid for 6 months
  4. Citizenship Identity card

Upon selection, the candidate will have to pay Nu. 30,000/- (thirty thousand) as course fee. This course fee will cover food, lodge and travel during the entire training period. The training will only be conducted if there are more than 20 participants.  This training is a tailor-made training aimed at empowering youths with the basic skills in floral and faunal identification. The training will be of value to become a professional nature guide.
