The training on Forest Pest Management will be held at UWIFoRT, Lamai Goempa with financial support from the International Climate Initiative (IKI), WWF Bhutan with the aim to provide both theoretical and hands-on training to the participants in properly identifying potential forest insect pests and also identifying the causal agent during an outbreak based on the signs and symptoms. The training will encompass practical sessions on the best management practices for prevention, supervision, monitoring and control of some of the prevalent insect pests in different forest types in Bhutan. The training shall be imparted to forestry officials who are engaged in insect pest detection and reporting, monitoring and supervision and management of insect pests.

Training which will happen from 29th April-3rd of May, 2024 will be provided by the team from UWIFoRT and FRPMD covering insect pests of both conifer and broadleaved forests.
