Community Forestry Book Keeping Training for forestry field officials in Gelephu

A five-day Community Forestry (CF) Bookkeeping Training is being conducted from January 20  to January 25, 2025 at Ghaden Hotel, Gelephu. UWIFoRT is organizing the training with funding support from Bhutan For Life (BFL). The training aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of forestry field officials for the effective implementation of CF programs. The primary objectives of the training are:

       ·To provide comprehensive, hands-on practical training in bookkeeping.

· To assess the current status and challenges Community Forests (CFs) face.

· To facilitate the implementation of standardized monitoring and evaluation processes in CFs.

 The expected training outcomes are to:

   · Integrate the FMID requirements into the collection permit and standardize permit format across all Community Forests (CFs) nationwide.

· Enable participants to facilitate and verify records maintained by the Community Forest Management Group (CFMG).

· Equip participants to implement standardized monitoring and evaluation processes within CFs effectively.

· Enhance understanding of the challenges encountered at the Dzongkhag level.

 24 forestry field officials (22 male and 2 female) are undergoing the training supported by two resource persons each from FMID and FRPMD alongside two resource persons from the Institute.
