Two Japanese professors visit UWIFoRT to discuss collaborative research
Two professors from the Institute for Applied Geography from Komazawa Univeristy, Japan visited UWIFoRT today to discuss on potential collaborative research. They bring in their own expertise.
Takashi EGUCHI, a climatologist, executed joint research on "Water and Climate of Western Bhutan" with our Bhutanese counterparts and is currently in circulation. This is Takashi's 16th visit to Bhutan starting 1985. He proposes to do similar study covering Central and Eastern part of Bhutan in collaboration with UWIFoRT.
Yasushi TANAKA, Geomorphology and GIS specialist, did an extensive work on Topographic change in landslide areas in his country. He employs carbon dating , diffusion, DEM, Shallow Landslide Model to study landslide site. His study has a huge potential in Bhutan and he proposes to conduct similar studies in Bhutan collaborating with UWIFoRT.
