Community Forest Management Course at UWICE

The first batch of the three-months course on “Community Forest Management” to the members of community forest management groups started at the institute today. The trainees consist of 6 males and 7 females and they are from Sarpang, Haa, Trashigang, Samtse, Wangdue, Tsirang, and Bumthang Dzongkhags. 

During these three months, trainees will be taught basic in silviculture, forest management & plan writing, forest protection, conflict management, forest acts & rules, and accounts & book keeping. The accounts & book keeping will be taught by Rural Development Training Center at Zhemgang. Hands-on training will also be provided along with theory classes. Trainees will receive a stipend of Nu. 1500 every month.
