Mr. Eric Lemelson, the President and Founder of Karuna Foundation and a new board member, Mr. Joseph Thomas Novick visited the Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation and Environment (UWICE) on 28^th March 2016. Tshewang R. Wangchuk, the Executive Director of the Bhutan Foundation, accompanied the team to the Institute.

Mr. Sangay Wangchuk, the head of the Sustainable Forestry Department, UWICE, briefed the guests about the Institute, its goals and objectives, achievements, and the future plans. Mr. Changa Tshering, the project coordinator, presented on the status of HEROES project, highlighting opportunities, challenges and the way forward.
